Bending springs for tubes
Bending springs for tubes
For evenly bending brass, copper and tubes without kinking.
For tubes from size 1,5mm - 4,7mm
Beforehand, the part of the tube to be bent must be softened by heating it with a flame. Then let the tube cool down. After cooling, the bending can begin.
Method:
Slide a closely fitting spring over the tube. Use a longer length of tube than necessary as this simplifies bending. Cut the tube to size afterwards.
For bending, use a bar stock or a dowel which the tube can be formed on. Bend the tube with spring in small steps around the bar stock/dowel. Work from the outside to the inside.
The material becomes harder during bending. Heat the part of the tube to be bent again with a flame to soften the material. Allow the tube to cool completely again to resume bending.
